The book 2022 represents the first result of a project by Suji Jung and Gun Lee, based on Suji Jung’s daily writing in Korean during her move from Seoul to Stuttgart in January 2022, and focusing on her diary entries from January 9th to December 31st.

The diary includes daily encounters with spaces, people, place names, and locations, as well as the view from the window. The entries were written at different times. Some were composed before going to bed, while others were written in the morning after refreshing the memories of the previous day. Sometimes the entries were also recalled from memory with a certain delay, but the principle of one entry per day was always maintained.

Keeping a diary can be understood not only as a record but also as a practice of daily performativity. The design is based on a table with year, month, day, and weekday, which anticipates the upcoming work. The date on each page is represented by a hand stamp that functions as the page number of the book.
